What’s the word when you’re stuck and you can’t think of any ideas, like writer’s block?
This is one of my sketches with the scribble pattern I was thinking of doing, but I’m probably not going to do it.
Middle is clock, right is death, upper right is car crash and lower right is father/child unfinished and the rest unfinished.
I was thinking of making them all connect together into one big picture, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that idea anymore.
I keep overthinking this. Maybe if I just think that it’s not art then I can just focus on the solution more easily.
I looked up simple sound waves:
Things like this maybe.
Alright, anyone else has any idea what the heck they’re doing for the last project? If it can’t be literal, can’t be metaphorical, can’t be abstract, can’t be anything else then honestly I’m just going to have to ignore it or else I can’t think of anything. So… It can’t be literal or typographic and that’s my rule only.
I thought of the sound maps we did earlier this semester and I might go with that, and if I succeed in making it work I’ll put up sketches, but for now, here is one that I did in color. (I made more but it’s in ink and hard to see).
(Left: Death – idea for background) (Middle: Car crash) (Right: Bumblebees doing the nasty – not pornographic enough)
It’s so bad, right!?
These were my first sketches still working. I have better ideas for death and clock now but that’s all I’ve gotten so far. I can’t think of anything else for the sounds of the others listed and I really really really don’t favor this project.
Hopefully I’ll think of something before the due date. …and I’m doing this in coloring pencils for obvious reasons. I had the idea of using the scribble pattern for this project.
I just wish more people would post their sketches cause it’s always nice to see an example or an idea that isn’t yours. Especially if you’re stuck. x ____ x
Good luck everyone!!!
(More sketches to be added once I find the book I did them in…. )
I looooove my book. I put so much effort into it. Since I turned it in late, I made it my theme. I picked out the paper and etc at Michael’s Arts and Crafts store. The clocks on my cover symbolize that it’s late, and the tape I used with cameras and film reel printed on represent the entire project (the fact that we had to take pictures of stuff, lol).
Some examples of my pages
Many of my pictures are legit natural, the only one that isn’t is the number 5 (like, seriously, where can you find that?). My favorite are A, H, Q 2 and 7.
Here are all my pictures:
Overall I think I liked this project the best out of everything we did.
In this project we cut holes into boxes and painted inside them on a piece of paper, and we picked a section to paint again on bigger piece.
I lost my page so I had to redo it, I made sure to make simple strokes and colors, but this assignment was STILL hard. But I believe I made it really close to the actual piece, except for some small details.
So, we’re to make a design and use different colors on two 5×7 Bristol pieces, only one color is different for both. Painting was too hard, so I used coloring pencil, even though coloring pencil took so much longer….
Four squares, two are the same color and the other two are different colors. I used green on blue and yellow. In this assignment you must make the green appear a different color from the effect of the blue and yellow.
For this project, no one was able to guess the word “Aimless” but after knowing it they were able to see it in my row of photos.
Basically the point is that each student has their own item which reveals their purpose is life, or future career. But one student isn’t holding or doing anything, showing that he has no aim in life.
‘Sitting’ and ‘waiting’ were pretty good guesses but aimless, meaning to have no purpose, fits the situation.
Someone said if the overlapping of photos in different parts mean anything, and they do. Each student except for one is designed differenly because they are individuals with different paths. The one student who is still ‘whole’ has not broken out into a path, he’s still just sitting there. Whether the other students are actually breaking into pieces negatively and the one student still whole is seen as a positive can also fit into this, but then aimless wouldn’t seem like the word for this piece.
Overall I got good results, someone said it best solves the solution and I’m pretty content with it myself.
Thanks a lot!
